2016 Backpack Buddies Golf Outing & Oyster Roast

The Backpack Buddies Oldfield Community Outing and Oyster Roast was very successful in so many ways. Chef Jason and Charlie did a masterful job of managing the weather and putting on a terrific oyster roast in rapidly changing conditions.  The food was wonderful and as usual the food and beverage staff made it all seem so easy and effortless. Jon and Kevin did their usual fine job of handling the golf outing and getting the bunch of golfers organized into four different golf formats.  Even the downpour after the first eight holes did not deter the determined.  Jon held a fun clinic for non-golfers to introduce them to the game and even had his pet baby alligators on the practice green to present unusual hazards (see Hoagie’s pictures). The silent auction was very well received and the Fishing Charter and the Cocktail Party at The River Club attracted the most attention and competitive bidding to produce much needed revenue for BackPack Buddies. Thank you to all in helping raise money and increase awareness of the childhood hunger issues in our greater Bluffton and Hardeeville communities.
